Bippity Bop Barbershop (by Natasha Anastasia Tarpley, illustrated by EB Lewis) is about a brave young boy called Miles, who is off to the barbershop with his dad for the very first time. He’s excited at first, but starts to get nervous once it becomes all to real. His father and the other men in the barbershop comfort him and give him the strength and advice he needs to live through new experiences. This is the companion book to Tarpley’s ‘I Love My Hair’, and it’s a great book for boy’s with afro hair as well as everyone else who is open to learning the lesson that trying something different can be quite enlightening.
