Ballet Cafe Naturals

Ballet Café Naturals (USA) ‘embraces the fact that dancers come in various colours.’ By joining the FleshTone movement, Ballet Café is helping to swell the ranks of black-owned businesses catering to dancers of colour whose dance apparel choices are still limited in comparison to their lighter-hued contemporaries.
As for the tights themselves, they are affordable and cater for both women and girls. The tights come in six yummy colours – Fudge Fondu, Chocolate Barre, Tiramisu-Su, Caramel Frappé, Butter Piqué, and Crème Brisé – and you can order a colour swatch for just $1.00 to choose your perfect hue. We sampled the ‘Chocolate Barre’ footed convertible tights which are a perfect match for about an NW45/47 (or similar). The tights feel sooo soft (but durable) and the tagless woven waist band is important for dancers looking for minimum fuss from their dance tights. Made in the USA from 87% Nylon and 13% Spandex, these tights are essentially a ‘matte’ tight, thought they feel so soft and the quality of the colour/pigmentation means that these tights are definitely not ‘dull’. Be sure to check the sizing chart to get your perfect fit. Prices start from $15.95USD for women’s sizes and $12.95USD for girls. It’s also great to see ‘Fudge Fondu’ for deeper FleshTone dancers – a much needed addition to the market.

Bought these for ballet but actually ended up wearing them to work in winter! Great to use for opaque hosiery with winter knee high boots. It’s not an exact color match but the Chocolate Barre is deep and rich looks amazing on stage too.

I ordered a color swatch first which I highly recommend. The tights were thicker than I expected, but they have lasted for quite some time now. Would recommend for dance.
