Banana Republic True Hues
Banana Republic’s ‘True Hues’ capsule collection was released in Diversity month (April 2019). BR launched a range of skin tone garments and accessories – including camisoles, bodysuits, socks, underwear, bras and pumps. The shade range includes 8 hues with at least three of the hues being suitable for deeper FleshTones.
The underwear offerings feature lingerie from Cosabella, made exclusively for the True Hues collection. There are lacy boy shorts and thongs available, as well as underwear made from Cosabella’s semi-sheer ‘aire’ fabric. The t-shirt bra, however, does not appear to be available in anything darker than a beige-looking ‘tan’. The selection of briefs in the True Hues collection is far more diverse than the bras on offer.
A more solid offering for darker skin women can be found among the camisoles and body suits. In ‘Chestnut brown’, ‘Espresso brown’ and ‘Deep brown’, the strappy camisole and the short sleeve body suit is very versatile and suitable also for dancers looking for something in their FleshTone.
