Ayanna’s Art & Fashion
If you are on Instagram and following all things FleshTone, then chances are you would have seen Ayanna’s Art & Fashion gorgeous clothing range for children (mostly young girls it seems). Ayanna started drawing positive FleshTone characters at the age of 7, and has, over the years, evolved to include depictions of current experiences and issues in her illustrations.
In particular, our favourite t-shirts are the ‘Representation Matters’ ($25USD) and the ‘Baby Hair & Afros’ t-shirt ($20USD). The designs are wonderfully age appropriate and most definitely ‘on message’ – particularly in a world dominated by Frozen characters as role models for young girls and boys. The artistic work is original and sweet – and while you may think the messages associated with this clothing range are stating the obvious, these are words our children should always hear.
