Freed of London
Freed of London pointe shoes have been hand made in London since 1929. A solid and trustworthy brand for UK dancers, Freed of London has partnered with London-based Ballet Black, whose international company of dancers are predominately of Black and Asian descent, to create two new tones of satin pointe shoe – bronze and brown – in addition to the ‘traditional’ ballet pink. Bronze suits medium to lighter FleshTones, with ‘Brown’ essentially colour matching a range of brown-skin beauties.
Freed of London is therefore the FIRST and ONLY British company to manufacture and sell pointe shoes in a tone other than ballet pink. Freed of London is a well established and trusted brand with flagship stores in London, Paris and New York. Freed ballet shoes are also sold through an extensive retail network worldwide – though right now it seems that you will need to email them directly to get your hands on the bronze or brown colours. Prices range from $75USD to $100USD.
