Tree Change Dolls

Tree Change Dolls took the world by storm in 2015. Creator Sonia Singh ‘rescues’ and rehabilitates discarded dolls from op shops and tip shops around Tasmania, Australia. Clothes are made by Sonia’s mother and the faces of the dolls repainted in a ‘down to earth’ style. The attention to detail on these dolls is amazing, and they sell out in her Etsy store within seconds. If you are lucky enough to get hold of a FleshTone doll amongst her offerings (there are usually a few in each batch she produces), then that is a beautiful thing. These dolls are not cheap, but considering the artistry that goes into ‘upcycling’ these dolls, they are little treasures. Prices start from $280AUD ($210USD).
