Aerie
American Eagle Apparel is one of the latest big name brands to action the objective reality that there is more than one ‘nude’. It has released its “Real Me” collection – underwear basics, including lightly lined bras, thongs and briefs, in five new nude hues.
While Aerie is late to the diversity table, in one respect they are ahead of the pack – with their naming of the colours available. No scrumptious food analogies here – the five newest hues are called honesty, inspiration, strength, energy and confidence – qualities they hope to inspire in their loyal (and newly converted) customers. The full coverage lightly lined bra is a stand out here (we are still not entirely sure where one is supposed to wear a bralette outside of Coachella) – with sizes ranging from AA to DD. It has adjustable straps, a back hook closure and rose gold hardware.
When not on sale, prices for underwear start at $14.50USD with bras and bralettes going up to $40USD. With the pieces being tattooed with tiny little stars or inspiring messages like “let the real me shine”, this is a nice staple to add to your nude underwear collection (if you can fit into the size range available).
