Mehron Celebre Pro HD Foundation

Created in New York City in the 1920s, Mehron Make Up was and continues to be a staple in the bag of tricks of performing artists. Because of its staying power and full coverage, this stage-style foundation is also used for the day to day by beauty fashionistas who are in the know. The Celebre Pro HD is a favourite at FleshTone.net and not only because it is endorsed by the amazing Danessa Myricks. It is highly pigmented and very affordable, it lasts for most of the day (about 4-6 hours), and the coverage is medium to full. It glides on (use a stippling brush) easiest for oily and combination skin – though because it is really quite creamy, use a mattifying primer for oily skin. If you have dry skin, be sure to moisturise before applying as the foundation has the tendency to stick to your dry patches. There are 4 ‘dark’ shades available and an additional 4 shades for ‘medium to dark’ skin.

What’s worth noting about the dark collection is the differences in undertones for each of the hues. Dark 3 has an incredibly red and warm undertone – and dark 2/4 do not really have much warmth at all. Visit a store to match your hue perfectly or order samples online. If you are darker than NW50 however, it is unlikely that the current Mehron Celebre range will be dark enough for you.

Once you have found your perfect FleshTone colour, the results, particularly in front of a camera, are amazing. Celebre Pro HD is worth considering if you are after a photo shopped and flawless finish in front of a camera or for your everyday – no filters necessary. It has a semi-matte/satin/dewy finish and a light touch only is necessary (a little bit goes a long way). Prices start from just $14USD.
